Ode to Evelyn

This weekend will be the memorial service for my Grandmother who passed away last month at the age of 101. My mom and I put together the following word essay in memory of her life.

Youngest.
Four brothers. One sister. Canada.
San Diego. Hyperion. Ink & Paint. 3 Little Pigs.
Claude. Snow White. 7 Dwarfs. Valley Heart Dr. 2 Sons.
Grapefruit. Celery. Chocolate. Yellow and Orange. Gold.
Dinner parties. Travel. Bridge. Hilltoppers. Museum. Owls.
Sunshine. Patio. Hibiscus. Pool. Mountain.
6 Grandchildren. 9 Great-grandchildren.
1 life well lived.
Longevity.

This was the view from my grandmother's living room. It looked out to the pool, and then to the orange trees beyond, and then across the way to the Hollywood Hills. Sweet memories that will always be mine.
