Going Home
As we left the airport to make the 3+ hour drive to our home in Kennewick, Donald looked over with a smile and gave me a high five. A high five that meant, 'we did it!'. Because, believe it or not, these family getaways are a lot of work. It takes careful planning to make sure that everything runs smoothly - especially with Elisabeth and her special needs.
But...we did it. We made it across the country and back with our 3 little ducklings in tow. We explored, we tried new foods, we took a step back in time, we took Elisabeth to the hospital, and we only got lost a few times along the way :)
Now we are back. And, as always, returning to the state of Washington has filled us with a renewed love for the place we live. Donald and I love traveling; we love showing our children the world. But most of all we love our place in the midst of it all - our little corner of the world. The place that we call home.
