A Dream Come True

Long before I was ever a wife or mother I dreamed of one day being one.

I dreamt of tender moments with my husband; of nurturing my children; of enjoying life's simple moments together.

Indeed, this is my dream come true:

[Goodnight Moon is a very special book in our home. It simply captivates Elisabeth. Just look at her face.]

[I love that Miss Elisabeth is reaching out to touch it in this one.]

[And while Goodnight Moon captivates Elisabeth, Elisabeth captivates us.]

[I fell in love with these candid photos of Donald and his special girl.]

[It's time for a new profile picture. Now the question is, which of these to choose? (Elisabeth is only 18 months old in that one up in the corner right now.)]

[I always wanted daughters. Lucky me.]

[Ha...can you tell that I am using Elisabeth's wheelchair as a walker? Ya...I'm struggling to walk these days. That spinal fusion can't come fast enough. ] [Take a look at Lorelai's feet....love it.]

[Oh la la.]

Thank you Lee Ann for taking these photographs; for capturing our family in this moment of time. I will treasure them forever.

A Photo Shoot

Remember a few weeks back when I mentioned that Alexandra and Lorelai were off working on a top-secret project for their grandmother? Well, here's the big reveal!

Donald's mother, Susan, has a clothing line called Sweet Lizzi (named after the one and only, Elisabeth) and the girls were asked to model some clothing from her new collection during a photo shoot with Charlene Hardy of Charlene Hardy Photography.

Here are the results of that photo shoot. (They had a blast doing this with some of their very best friends; the same friends that I wrote about in this post a few years back).

[I am in love with the collars on these pumpkin colored tops. By the way...is it just me or does Alexandra look all grown up all of the sudden?]

[Alexandra.]

[Evelyn.]

[Lillian.]

[Lorelai.]

[Tessa.]

[Alexandra.]

[Evelyn.]

[Lillian. (She's destined to be a model, I tell you.)]

[Lorelai.]

[That hat,
oh that hat! I spotted it at the mall a few weeks back and just couldn't get it out of my mind....so I went back and bought it. Sorry, it's not available through Sweet Lizzi (but it sure does pair up well with that plaid skirt!)]

[Tessa. (Wearing one of my favorite dresses. I'm really into light blue and red right now.)]

[Alexandra.]

[Evelyn.]

[Lillian.]

[Lorelai.]

[When I saw the picture below I just about died. Look at Lorelai; look at her face. Seriously, I am in love with this picture (and that sweet little girl of mine.)
]

[Alexandra.]

[Tessa.]

[Lillian.]

[Lorelai and Alexandra.]

[There's that red equestrian hat again. {love.} And how about that skirt that Lex has on...look familiar? It's the same one she wore on the first day of school this week. Speaking of the first day of school, the owl top that Lorelai wore was a Sweet Lizzi original as well.
]

Whew....now wasn't that fun?

An Apple for the Teacher

My older girls each have two teachers: 1 for Spanish and 1 for English. So as a little back-to-school gift we purchased four of these apple-shaped note pads.

A new twist on 'an apple for the teacher'.

By the way....

Happy September!

It's
National Hydrocephalus Awareness Month,
did you know that?

So let's be aware!

{Hydrocephalus is kind of a big deal around our house.}

{How appropriate that my own hydrocephalic child was born in September.}

{Speaking of September, my spinal fusion surgery has been set for September 27th. Woohoo!}
